When is the application deadline and when will I find out if I’ve been selected?
The application deadline is January 19, 2024. Finalists will be notified in early February and finalist interviews will take place on February 24th and 25th. Fellowship winners will be notified in early March, 2024.
How do you match Fellows with opportunities?
As part of the application process you will rank your top 3 choices of internships offered by our partner hosts. We will continue to add new opportunities until the final week before the application closes (January 19th). Therefore, we recommend that you not submit your application until after you have had a chance to review all the opportunities. There is no benefit to submitting your application early. After the interview process is complete we carefully review the opportunities you’ve ranked with the needs of each host. We do not guarantee you will get one of your top choices because sometimes we find a match that you may not have considered. We have had great success with our matches to date!
How much is the grant?
WiST Fellowship recipients receive a grant for $6,500 that is awarded in June at the official start of the program. Fellows may also request reimbursement for up to $1,500 in transportation and lodging expenses for travel requested by the host company in direct connection with the internship.
What expenses are reimbursed?
WiST will reimburse up to $1,500 in transportation and lodging expenses associated with travel in direct connection with the Fellowship project. Fellows working in person may use the funds to offset travel to and from the site at the beginning and end of their project. Fellows working remotely may request reimbursement to offset a site visit required in connection with their project.
