USOPC Teams Up with Women in Sports Tech

Olympics 2024 Women in Sports Tech

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and Women in Sports Tech (WiST) are teaming up to expand the talent pipeline, improve culture for employees and athletes and aid in retention. USOPC recognizes the need to prioritize diversity in every operation and maintain an inclusive and equitable culture that represents all U.S. citizens.

We are excited to team up with WiST to help us continue to build a better, more inclusive world through sport by championing diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the Movement.
— Mike Levine, Dir., Technology & Innovation Business Operations, USOPC

USOPC and WiST have similar diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) goals and look forward to working together to improve innovation and business performance at all levels. USOPC will participate in the WiST Fellowship program, WiST Presents original content and Fireside Chats exploring DEI issues that lead to more inclusive team cultures. In addition, WiST will help educate athletes on the variety of career opportunities available in Sports Tech, a $26B industry projected to be $42B by 2026.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to partner with the leaders at USOPC and help to expand their talent pipeline and build more inclusive cultures where everyone feels they belong. Our programs and initiatives are specifically designed for employers like the USOPC to do more than talk about DEI, and drive real change with measurable impact. Our partnership is wholly consistent with our mission at WiST to drive growth opportunities for women at all career stages in all areas of sports technology and innovation,” WiST Founder + CEO Marilou McFarlane said.

About USOPC

Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee serves as both the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the United States. The USOPC is focused on protecting, supporting and empowering America’s athletes, and is responsible for fielding U.S. teams for the Olympic, Paralympic, Youth Olympic, Pan American and Parapan American Games, and serving as the steward of the Olympic and Paralympic movements in the U.S.
